NEWS! HM Ward’s New Releases

brokenpromises A lot of people ask me which book is coming out next, and what date will it be available. That’s a great question and with the normal author who puts out one book a year, there is usually a concrete date. Since I put out nearly 25 books a year, release dates are a little more fluid.

Say what, now? What do you mean?

I mean that I do LIVE LAUNCHES. I call them that and have for the past few years. A live launch is where there is no pre-order or release date. Instead, the book comes out as soon as it’s ready with NO waiting.

THE BOOK IS ALWAYS READY BEFORE YOU’D GET IT, IF A DATE & *PRE-ORDER WAS SET. Pre-order/ concrete dates actually delays your book’s release by about 2-3 weeks. No one wants to wait longer.

This is the list of books that are in the pipeline for publication. Completion dates will vary, but this way you have an idea of what I’m working on, and what’s coming next.

I’m always working on multiple projects at a time. It’s how I write. When I’m not feeling one character or story, I’ll flip to a different book. That allows me to keep the release pace quick, and it gets you guys more books, faster.

Books that are listed on the COMING SOON page of the website are in the creation phase and do not have a release date. When a date is assigned, the book will be removed from this list and added to the BOOKS page.

This year the goal is to release TWO titles per MONTH! Wahoo! In the past four months, there have been EIGHT releases, so I’m pretty much on course.

I expect the next release to be SHADOWS OF THE PAST – a NOVEL (360 pgs), no cliffhanger in early March. I hesitate to even say that as there are a variety of factors that affect the release, but it’s getting close.

SO HOW DO WE KNOW WHEN A BOOK IS BEING RELEASED?

Good question. There are three ways to make sure you don’t miss a release.

What’s an ARC? And How Can I Get One?

ON THE TOPIC OF ARCs: - WHAT IS AN ARC? – HOW DO I GET AN ARC? – WHY ISN’T IT WORKING? ARC stands for Advance Reader (or Reviewer) Copy. Normally, ARCs are sent out to professional book reviewers and bloggers that have a big following so that these reviewers and critics can read the book and post a review, usually before the actual release. It gives the book visibility prior to release. Holly is generous enough to send ARCs to hardcore fans who aren’t professional reviewers or bloggers. IN EXCHANGE FOR AN HONEST REVIEW (on Amazon, Goodread, iTunes, Kobo, B&N, Blog, etc.). If you apply for an ARC, you get a pre-publication copy of the book but you are asked to post a review as quickly as possible. How do you get an ARC? On Holly’s Facebook page (link to the right), she will post an announcement saying that ARC applications are open and she’ll post an email addy. Send a blank email to that addy (please try to use something other than a Yahoo! or AOL). You’ll instantly get an email with instructions and a password. Fill in the required fields in the form and then… cross your fingers and WAIT! It could take a couple of days before you find out if you got an ARC. To be eligible for an ARC you have to have posted reviews of Holly’s books on amazon.com (it has to be .com) Having trouble? The automated system seems to not like Yahoo! and AOL so if you can open up another email account (gmail works great), for the initial step, then you can enter your regular email addy in the form. Sending the initial email doesn’t make you eligible. After the initial email is sent, you’ll get a reply with a link and a password. Click on the link, enter the password in the little box and it’ll bring you to the form. Can’t find links to your reviews on amazon.com? If you are using a mobile device or tablet, you need to go on the full site version (not the mobile version). Go to the bottom of the screen and click on “Full Site”. When you find one of your reviews on the full site, there should be a “Permalink” at the bottom of your review. Keep your finger pressed on the word “Permalink” until you have to option to “copy” or “copy link” and then post it in the form.

KICKSTARTER FOR THE ARRANGEMENT FILM SERIES! EEEEEP!

The time is finally here! After nearly a year of research, conversations, and consultations it’s finally time to kick this baby into motion. Hooray!

There was a question posed to the Ferro fans which was:

Should I sell the rights and let someone else produce THE ARRANGEMENT?

The response was a resounding NO. Fans were terrified that Sean would be ruined; and that there was no way to capture Avery’s personality and keep with the dark themes of the story. This isn’t light stuff. These are people fighting for survival – good people that do bad things, bad people who aren’t what they seem. There’s so much to this story and the fanbase is so ravenous that I kept the story–it was not sold and we decided to produce it ourselves and YOU CAN HELP.

Every film project needs backers. Those are the people who fund the project. That’s the stage that we are currently at–we need backers to fund this project. You guys know that this isn’t cheap. Yeah, I could make the pilot on my own, but who wants one show – one episode? Plus it takes my 6 figures for the one episode and burns through it with nothing left. What happens when people want more?

That’s where you guys come in. If I take my pile of cash and you guys chip in, we can raise the 2.1 million needed to make the first season of THE ARRANGEMENT. The Ferro books have sold over 5 millions copies to hundreds of thousands of fans, so this is doable.

The funds will allow us to make the series. Best of all, the episodes will be available via DVD or instant download. If we bust the bank and raise way more than expected, you’ll hear me squeal from your house! And I know we can, so head over to the project page and make it one of the biggest kickstarters of 2014.

As soon as THE ARRANGEMENT PROJECT is funded, we can coordinate schedules with directors and cast, and we’re that much closer to getting a real live Sean Ferro on your screen and into your living room.

What the frog is kickstarter? It’s crowdsource funding: It’s where everyone gives a little bit to make stellar things happen. In return you get to be a part of something awesome and you can choose different prizes that suit your budget, from $1-$10,000 as a reward for chipping in. Here are some of the awesome things done in 2013 with kickstarter. It’s amazing what people can do when they band together!

What happens if we don’t get enough backers to hit the 2.1 million dollar goal? Nothing. You don’t get any prizes you hoped for and there won’t be a TV series, movie, or anything. It’s just over.
