Dudes, I’m going to do an entire post on serials, but in case you don’t know the diff b/t a novel and a serial, here’s the drive-by version: A novel is a long story that you can settle into, typically over 50K words or 250 pages. The story has a single climax and usually unfolds like a bell curve. A serial is a story that unfolds over multiple volumes, by design. Its’ shorter (this book is about 32K words or 125 pages), each one has it’s own climax, it’s cram-packed with emotion, and it ends with a cliffhanger.

SCANDALOUS Hits the NEW YORK TIMES Bestseller List!

This week has been amazing! SCANDALOUS by H.M. Ward (me!) hit the New York Times Bestseller list! I had no idea it was even there. Someone had to tell me.

SCANDALOUS is a steamy contemporary romance where a woman finds herself facing the man and the life she had left behind when a moment of desperation compels her to follow a job lead as an artist’s assistant.

It was my debut romance novel, so this is totally amazing! It was written in one week back in April 2012. Someone awesome wondered what a romance book would look like, if I wrote it. So I did it. That’s where SCANDALOUS came from.

For the past 18 days the book has been in the top 100 on Amazon and hugging the top 100 line on B&N. I changed the cover and put it on sale earlier this month, and it took off.

The first cover shows the painting that’s in the book. I need to figure out how to showcase it, because it’s really cool. If you search for SCANDALOUS on this blog, you’ll see it.

It’s way cool.

The sequel SCANDALOUS 2, will be released on Valentine’s Day, Thursday, February 14, 2013.

That’s right, book #2 – more Jack and Abby! The second novel picks up where the first one left off. I can’t wait to share it with you! I’m so excited!

And if you gotta see the list to believe it (I did!) here it is. I drew the happy face! It’s totally amazing! I was doing the happy dance all night.

So, I had no idea it was there. I just clicked around last night on Amazon, looking for another book to buy (ran out of stuff to read again) and I saw my book in the sidebar. Look! That’s me! Hooray! Just thought it was cool and wanted to share.

I’m surrounded by traditionally published, kickass books. I mean, two are House of Night! It’s so exciting!

CATALYST (Vampire Apocalypse #2) Release Date

The 2nd book in the bestselling Vampire Apocalypse series will be released on October 20, 2012!

I can’t tell you how many emails and messages I’ve gotten from fans asking when this book will be out. It got delayed a little bit. What can I say? I’m a bit of a control freak and wanted to hold onto it a little longer.

Vampire Apocalypse is the major novel series I’m working on right now, meaning they are ~ 300 page novels (trade paperback size) similar to the length of the books in the DEMON KISSED series. I expect book #3 in the Vampire Apocalypse series, DIVERGENT, to be released in December.
